Drew/Walker Employs Innovation to Execute a Unique Campaign
The Talk About It! Campaign Continues to Grow as Agency Uses New Promotional Prototype
SAN ANTONIO (October 8, 2010) — The Drew/Walker Group Inc., has sustained progress with the Talk About It! campaign, as the objective is to transform San Antonio into a No Kill city for dogs and cats by 2012. The initiative is sponsored by the San Antonio Area Foundation Consortium of Partners, The City of San Antonio, and Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare and the message is supported by the three quintessential concepts of Care. Adopt. Neuter.
The approach utilized by Drew/Walker for Talk About It! is a distinct combination of grassroots marketing, philanthropic and nonprofit advocacy, and consumer friendly business models. To reach the No Kill goal, there must be a focus on reinforcing the significance of owners throughout the community making healthy choices for their pets.
“In order for the message to resonate, we need to go into the neighborhoods, talk with the community, and listen to what the residents of San Antonio want,” said Andrew M. Anguiano, a Drew/Walker agency partner. “We must take advantage of the relationships and contacts we have in this community, if we aim to influence the behavior of the people within it.”
In order to further connect with and reach San Antonians, the Talk About It! campaign has sponsored numerous local events. Those events include pet adoption activities, free spay and neuter clinics, pet fiestas, neighborhood block walks, and pet training seminars that are held within communities where the information is most desired.
During the last weekend in September, more than 500 hundred door hangers were delivered to the neighborhood around Mission San Jose where a pet fiesta was held on Sunday, October 3rd, 2010. The community around the mission was informed of the fiesta and free spay/neuter clinic using a dynamic marriage of traditional media outlets and grassroots methods. As a result the event was well attended and the clinic was filled to capacity.
For Talk About It! to be a continued success, the Drew/Walker, its client, and all supporters want to maintain the strong rapport that has been built to connect to the community.
